Fundraising
In November, our office-based staff undertook a ‘Pyjama Day’ to raise funds for Children in Need.
Our office and laboratory locations are filled with fun and engaged individuals who share a sense of a strong community spirit. Employees love to come together, enjoy a laugh, and raise funds for a good cause, so Children in Need presents an excellent opportunity for combining these passions.
We have a Charity Committee made up of employee volunteers who come together regularly to discuss and decide on future fundraising activities, run employee surveys on which charities to support, and collect employee feedback on opportunities for community engagement. Our focus is on supporting both national and local initiatives as we are keen to be closely engaged with the community we are part of in the Earby, Skipton, and Leeds areas of the UK.
Members of the office teams wore their pyjamas to work for a fun-filled day raising a fantastic £177 for Children in Need, and they barely had to lift a slipper!
Melissa White, a Quality Assurance Leader at Broughton and PJ day leader, spoke about the positive impact fundraising days like these can have: “Broughton has a long history of getting involved and supporting worthy causes. We have the platform and the opportunity so it feels only right that we use those to continue raising awareness and supporting where we can. There is always a great response from the Broughton team, they are eager to get involved and highlight new ideas for events and fundraising. Days like this tend to create a real buzz in the run-up, it’s a great way to engage the whole team no matter whether they work on-site or remotely, and can be a lot of fun as well as raising money and awareness for a good cause.”
Fantastic work as always, Broughton!
