On 20th July, Broughton employees came together at Broughton Hall where the company was founded 17 years ago. The day started with everyone attending a meeting on company strategy and to learn about the new 2030 Vision for the company and how we are going to make it a reality.
After lunch, the day progressed to the annual summer party featuring a sports day, cricket match, street food, ice cream, open bar, and lots of fun. Attendees were split into ten teams and competed in some friendly competition across games of tug of war, basketball, inflatable challenges, and a penalty shootout. All teams then had representatives in a variety of old-school sports day races, including a three-legged, egg-and-spoon, and sack race.
Competing as a team created a real sense of fun as well as togetherness and team spirit, really helping to bring all different areas of the business together. Teams were randomly selected to make sure people got to meet colleagues they often don’t work with. The fun continued with a 15-over cricket match, with one team taking the victory after successfully chasing down 67 runs.
After a tough day of activities, everyone enjoyed some well-deserved street food and ice cream. The evening concluded with some drinks by the open bar and around the firepit bringing the curtain down on Broughton’s 2023 get-together.
The event was a great success, helping to bring all areas of the business together to socialise in a fun competitive environment and enhance the already strong team culture at Broughton. The fun and games will no doubt continue at our end-of-year event and next summer!
