The Christmas festivities at Broughton run throughout December with various activities to get the team into the Christmas spirit. The annual Secret Santa tradition was running, with staff who chose to participate drawing a random name of another staff member. The randomness means that it is likely that all parts of the business, from the laboratories to office workers, will be providing gifts for each other, helping to enhance the strong team culture at Broughton.
To go alongside Secret Santa, there was a Christmas jumper competition with prizes for the best effort. Furthermore, as part of the Christmas Jumper Day, Broughton was raising funds for Pendleside Hospice, which works to enhance the quality of life for local people with life-limiting illnesses. The winner this year was Imogen Walker, with James Barlow a close second.
The final part of the Christmas fun at Broughton was the annual Christmas party. The party took place at Utopia at Broughton Hall Estate on the grounds where Broughton was founded. The night involved food, drinks, and a DJ, and it was a great celebration of the hard work that everyone has put in throughout the year. There was plenty of fun and games throughout the night, including karaoke and a quiz involving lots of interesting facts about some of the Broughton team members. The evening concluded with some excellent performances on the karaoke, which was a great way to wrap up the year.
