Dr. Liza Strafford

Regulatory Submission Lead

Liza joined Broughton in August 2017 from a medical device company where she held positions in Packaging & Labelling and Technical Manufacturing Departments.

• 10+ years working in medical device, pharmaceutical and nicotine sectors in both technical and project management roles.
• Experience of medical device manufacturing, including machine process development and validation, especially for packaging requirements for sterilized medical devices and raw material change assessments.
• Holds a BSc (hons) degree in Chemistry (Pharmaceutical & Forensic Sciences), a PhD in Spectroscopic Analysis and has a six sigma Green Belt qualification.

Dr. Liza Strafford is a Regulatory Submission Lead at Broughton. She has a BSc (hons) degree and a PhD from the University of Bradford. Over the last 20 years, she has had roles including a college science lecturer, clinical trial manager for PhD dental students and as a packaging specialist and technical lead in a medical device company.

For the last 12 years, she has worked in the medical device, pharmaceutical and nicotine sectors. Liza has experience of medical device manufacturing, in particular, machine process development and validation, and assessing the potential technical and regulatory impact for raw material changes.

During her time at Broughton, she has been involved in method development, product manufacture and creating new processes. She currently focuses on organizing submissions to regulatory authorities for TPD, MAA and PMTA.

Liza has a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and is highly organised, pays attention to detail and has a strong work ethic.
