• Certified programme manager (MSP® Practitioner) and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, with training as an ISO 13485 lead auditor and in the application of ISO 14971 (Medical Device Risk Management).
• Passionate about delivering Broughton’s future growth through the agile delivery of business wide investment projects and programmes.

Vanessa is Head of Group PMO at Broughton, joining the business in 2016. Vanessa previously held technical project management and quality roles at Systagenix Wound Management, ConvaTec, Tissue Science Laboratories and Tissuemed. She has a BSc in Food Science and Engineering and a MSc in Quality Management from the University of Lincoln and Humberside. During her 25 years working within the regulated scientific sectors Vanessa has built experience in delivering complex, business critical, time limited projects using the most efficient project management tools and best practice, within fast-paced manufacturing and analytical environments. Vanessa has used her passion for project management and process development to support her scientific and quality-based education, in delivering a wide range of projects including implementation of sterile manufacturing, product recall disaster recovery, laboratory builds and process setup (microbiology and analytical), supplier technical due diligence and auditing (MDD, ISO 13485), installation of new manufacturing equipment, processes and validation, and generation of data based scientific rationales for changes to regulated products (Medical Devices and Pharmaceuticals).

At Broughton Vanessa provides project and programme delivery support to the Business investment programme, by assisting investment requests through the approval process and overseeing delivery of approved investment within the business.
